Dr. Umali was born and raised in the Philippines. She studied medicine at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She subsequently completed her Pediatric Residency Training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. Her interest in Pediatric Cardiology, was encouraged by her mentors, Drs. Alpert, Zales and Castro, with whom she spent time during her residency training. Dr. Umali pursued her fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She was trained in all aspects of General Pediatric Cardiology, including Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Fetal Echocardiography.

Dr. Umali has now joined the practice she loves, effective September, 2009. Her duties will be divided between patient care in the office setting, and Pediatric Resident Education at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Dr. Umali is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family. Her outside interests also include music, photography, reading and movies.
